Canglong Group creates integrated production and office spaces for Tanzanian clients

Under the demand for industrial upgrading in Tanzania, a certain customer urgently needs a steel workshop that integrates production and office. With its full-process capabilities in design, materials, and installation, Canglong Group customized an integrated solution of a 50×20×6-meter production workshop and a 30×10-meter two-story office, covering a total area of ​​1,300 square meters, to efficiently meet the dual needs of production and management.

Precise design 

The core challenge of the project is to balance the large-span load-bearing of the workshop with the comfortable space of the office. Canglong team’s targeted design

Workshop area (50×20×6 meters): A single-span column-free layout is adopted to maximize the space for production equipment. The 6-meter clearance is suitable for crane hoisting (the possibility of later installation is reserved).

Office area (two floors of 30×10 meters, total height 6 meters): Each floor is 3 meters high, with a reception area and conference room on the first floor, and an open office area on the second floor, connected by a stairwell, with clear divisions between active and quiet.

Climate adaptation: Tanzania's tropical climate is hot and rainy. The design strengthens ventilation (louvers on the side walls of the workshop) and drainage (the roof slope is 5°), and the building envelope takes into account heat insulation.

Preferred materials

Based on the local environment in Tanzania (humidity and strong ultraviolet rays), Mosasaurus uses a combination of cost-effective materials:

Main structure: Beams and columns are made of H-shaped steel, with a load-bearing capacity of 15 tons/㎡ and wind load resistance. The purlins are made of galvanized C-shaped steel, with a surface galvanized layer of ≥275g/㎡ and a corrosion-resistant life of over 25 years.

Envelope system: The exterior walls and roofs are all made of metal-faced thermal insulation sandwich panels (core material polyurethane, thickness 50mm), with thermal conductivity ≤0.024W/(m·K). Insulation and cooling in summer are 5-8°C, and insulation and energy saving in winter.

Accessory integration: supporting broken bridge aluminum doors and windows (with screens), PVC drainage pipes, and color steel plate gutters, providing a one-stop solution to waterproofing and drainage needs.

Efficient installation of modular prefabrication

Canglong adopts factory prefabrication and on-site assembly mode to shorten the construction period and ensure accuracy:Foundation construction: pour reinforced concrete independent foundation according to the drawings, and pre-embed anchor bolts.

Main construction: H-shaped steel columns are hoisted on site, beam-column nodes are fully welded, and C-shaped steel purlins are laid evenly with a spacing of 1.2 meters.

Enclosure and accessories: The sandwich panels are installed with staggered seams from bottom to top, sealants are applied at the joints between the gutters and drainage pipes, and foaming agents are filled with door and window frames after they are fixed to ensure air tightness.
