Canglong Steel structure Co., Ltd in china since 2003
Amidst the accelerating industrialization process in Tanzania, Canglong Group has successfully completed a factory building project for its local clients. This project innovatively employs a composite design of brick-concrete and steel structures. The walls and columns utilize readily available locally sourced concrete-brick-concrete structures, while the roof system utilizes a complete steel structure (including H-beams) and color steel panels provided by Canglong Group, forming an optimized combination of a stable, load-bearing base and a lightweight, efficient upper structure. This design is suitable for Tanzania's climate and available building materials, while fully leveraging the core advantages of steel structures to create a practical, durable, efficient, economical, and locally adapted modern industrial plant for the client.
Project Design Highlights: Considering the readily available brick-concrete materials and mature construction techniques in Tanzania, the project utilizes brick-concrete structures for the walls and columns. Its robust and stable characteristics effectively withstand the challenges of the rainy season and damp foundations, while also providing excellent thermal insulation to meet the temperature regulation needs of the Tanzanian tropical savanna climate.
The roof, as the core load-bearing and enclosure component of the plant, utilizes a customized steel structure system (including H-beams) from Canglong Group. The combination of steel beams and color steel plates perfectly compensates for the shortcomings of brick-concrete structures in terms of large-span coverage and construction efficiency, forming a complementary and site-specific design solution. This reduces the project's reliance on imported materials while ensuring the structural safety and usability of the factory building.

Large-span coverage, freeing up usable factory space: The H-beams provided by Canglong Group are custom-made from high-strength steel, possessing excellent bending and shear resistance. A single beam can achieve a large span of 12-20 meters. No additional intermediate columns are needed, maximizing the release of internal working space and meeting the diverse needs of customers for equipment placement, goods storage, and vehicle access. Compared to the span limitations of traditional pure brick-concrete roofs, the flexibility of steel structure roofs makes factory layouts more practical, adapting to the core demands of large spaces and high efficiency in Tanzanian industrial production.
Lightweight and high-strength, reducing the main load and construction difficulty: The H-beams are made of high-quality low-carbon alloy steel, with a unit weight only 1/3 that of a concrete beam with equivalent load-bearing capacity. Combined with a lightweight corrugated steel roof, this significantly reduces the load-bearing pressure on the underlying brick-concrete columns and foundation, reducing material usage and construction intensity. Furthermore, all steel structural components are prefabricated by Canglong Group, achieving high industry standards in dimensional accuracy, allowing for direct hoisting and assembly upon arrival at the Tanzanian project site. Coupled with the mature experience of the local construction team, the construction cycle is shortened by more than 50% compared to traditional concrete roofs, effectively mitigating the impact of Tanzania's rainy season on construction progress and ensuring on-time project completion.
Wind and rain resistant, adapting to the challenges of the tropical savanna climate: Tanzania is located on the East African plateau, experiencing frequent strong winds and heavy rains, with some areas also facing the impact of short-term severe convective weather. Canglong Group's H-beams, through precise mechanical calculations, are adapted to Tanzanian building codes (TZS 402 Building Structural Design Standard). Possessing excellent wind and earthquake resistance, the beams and brick-concrete columns are connected by high-strength bolts, ensuring stability and withstanding winds exceeding level 10. The roof's corrugated steel panels are treated with an aluminum-zinc coating and undergo anti-corrosion and waterproofing processes. Joints are reinforced with sealant and pressure strips, effectively preventing rainwater leakage during the rainy season and protecting internal equipment and goods from moisture damage, ensuring continuous production.
Heat and weather resistance reduces maintenance costs in tropical environments: Tanzania experiences long hours of sunshine and high UV intensity, making traditional building materials prone to aging and cracking. The steel structure components provided by Canglong Group undergo anti-corrosion treatment, effectively resisting UV erosion and humid air corrosion, preventing rust and deterioration. The corrugated steel panels use a highly weather-resistant PVDF coating, offering excellent UV resistance and anti-aging properties. Even after long-term exposure to tropical climates, they maintain their appearance and structural stability. Compared to traditional tile roofs, the service life of a steel structure roof is extended to over 20 years. Only regular, simple inspections are required in the later stages, reducing maintenance costs by 60%, perfectly meeting the core need for low-cost operation of industrial projects in Tanzania.
Environmentally friendly and economical, adaptable to local resources and sustainable needs: Steel structure components are recyclable, and carbon emissions during production are lower than those of concrete components, meeting Tanzania's environmental requirements for industrial projects. Simultaneously, the lightweight nature of the steel structure roof reduces transportation energy consumption, and the modular design of H-beams and color steel plates adapts to local transportation conditions in Tanzania, reducing logistics costs. The combination of brick-concrete and steel structures fully utilizes readily available local brick-concrete materials, reducing the use of expensive imported building materials and significantly lowering the overall project cost, maximizing cost-effectiveness for the client.
The successful completion of this project not only demonstrates Canglong Group's deep understanding and adaptability to Tanzania's climate characteristics, building material resources, and construction conditions, but also provides local clients with a site-specific, safe, efficient, economical, and durable factory solution centered on high-quality steel structure products. In the future, Canglong Group will continue to cultivate the African market, providing products and services tailored to local needs to support the industrialization of more African countries and become a reliable bridge connecting Chinese manufacturing with African development.
