Cameroon is located in west-central Africa, with some areas experiencing high temperatures year-round, heavy rainfall during the rainy season, and high humidity. Therefore, the factory building design not only needed to consider structural safety but also focused on the building's moisture resistance, ventilation, insulation, and long-term durability.

Portal Frame Structure Design to Meet Beer Production Space Requirements

The project adopted a portal steel frame structure design, utilizing the high strength, light weight, and large span characteristics of steel structures to provide a spacious interior for the beer production workshop, facilitating the installation of production equipment, logistics transportation, and future production line adjustments.

The main structure utilizes H-beams as the primary beam and column components. The H-beams have a rationally designed cross-section, possessing high load-bearing capacity and stability, effectively meeting the load requirements of the factory building during long-term use, while reducing steel consumption and improving construction economy. 

The roof structure employs a C-beam purlin system, serving as a crucial connection between the main steel frame and the roof cladding material. This not only enhances the overall stability of the roof but also facilitates subsequent maintenance and replacement, extending the factory's lifespan.

To meet the requirements of the factory's span and structural stability, a row of columns was added in the middle of the building. By optimizing the structural stress distribution, the overall load-bearing capacity of the building is improved, making the brewery safer and more reliable in the face of local heavy rainfall, wind loads, and other natural environmental factors.

EPS Sandwich Panel Cladding System, Balancing Insulation and Economy

Considering the local climate characteristics of Cameroon, the project utilizes an EPS sandwich panel cladding system for the walls and roof.

Some areas of Cameroon experience consistently high temperatures, making the factory building interior susceptible to external heat. EPS sandwich panels offer excellent thermal insulation, effectively reducing heat transfer from solar radiation, improving the indoor working environment, and reducing energy consumption for air conditioning and cooling equipment.

For beer producers, a stable indoor temperature environment is crucial. A well-designed building envelope system can help reduce operating costs and improve the stability of the production environment.

Furthermore, EPS sandwich panels are lightweight and quick to install, making them suitable for overseas projects, reducing on-site construction time and accelerating factory commissioning.
