The steel structure kit (including H-beams, C-shaped steels, tie rods, angle steels) and PU boards customized by Canglong Group for commercial buildings in the United States have been packaged and shipped, and will soon be transported across the Pacific Ocean to the Port of Los Angeles.

Project Background

Commercial buildings in the United States are undergoing a dual wheel drive of rapid construction and green upgrading. On the one hand, the surge in demand for e-commerce logistics has accelerated the construction of warehouses and distribution centers. On the other hand, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has increasingly stringent requirements for energy-saving standards in commercial buildings, placing higher demands on the lightweighting of steel structures and the thermal insulation properties of PU boards.

In this context, the efficiency of material delivery has become a core concern for customers. Traditional bulk transportation can easily cause deformation of components and scratching of boards, and various states in the United States have strict compliance audits for packaging of imported building materials, such as the California CARB formaldehyde standard and the Texas wind and seismic code. Canglong's packaging solution is a systematic breakthrough for this scenario.

Steel structure kits: Steel frame modular packaging system

For special-shaped components such as H-beams, C-shaped steels, tie rods, and angle steels, Canglong adopts a layered bundling and frame supported modular packaging scheme, with the following core advantages:

Structural reinforcement to prevent deformation

Weld steel pipes or columns into a square frame that fits the size of the container, place the steel components into the frame, and cross fix them with high-strength nylon strapping. For vulnerable parts such as H-shaped steel flange, EPE foam corner protectors shall be additionally wrapped to avoid collision and deformation of edges and corners.

Convenient towing and unloading efficiency

The bottom of the packaging frame is pre-set with forklift slots, and the center of gravity and lifting points are marked on the side. It supports seamless connection between dock direct lifting and construction site forklift transportation, and improves unloading efficiency by 60% compared to traditional bulk transportation.

PU panels: triple protection system

Canglong has designed a dual protection scheme for PU boards used on commercial building roofs/walls, including protective films and corner protectors, to directly address the three major pain points of moisture, scratches, and corner damage during sea transportation.

Inner layer: Made of 0.08mm thick transparent PE film, tightly wrapped around the surface of the PU board to isolate seawater salt spray and dust pollution, while preserving the integrity of the board's appearance.

Outer layer: L-shaped honeycomb aluminum corner protectors are installed on all four sides of each PU board, and EVA cushioning cotton is filled between the corner protectors and the board to absorb the compressive stress during stacking.
