Steel structure exhibition hall design in Gabon​

The Gabon Steel Structure Exhibition Hall has set a green benchmark for industrial buildings in tropical regions with its groundbreaking large-span structural design and efficient space creation. The core highlight of the project lies in its 32.4-meter span curved roof, like a smooth metal wave, which not only dissolves the stiffness of traditional large-span structures with soft curved surfaces, but also becomes the iconic symbol of the building with visual tension.

The exhibition hall adopts a customized steel truss system as the main load-bearing structure. Through refined mechanical modeling and node optimization, the load is evenly transmitted to the foundation, ensuring wind and seismic safety while successfully solving the technical problem of large-span no columns.

Thanks to this structural innovation, a super large column free space of 32.4 meters by 31.49 meters and a net height of 11.45 meters has been created inside the exhibition hall, completely eliminating the constraints of traditional column grids on functional layout, providing an unbounded display stage for large-scale equipment display, immersive exhibitions, or multifunctional gatherings.

More noteworthy is that the project uses topology optimization technology to accurately reduce the cross-section of the truss, and combines digital construction simulation to improve material utilization. Ultimately, it saves 30% of steel usage compared to conventional steel truss schemes, achieving a dual breakthrough in economy and sustainability while ensuring structural performance.

This steel structure exhibition hall, which integrates aesthetics, functionality, and green technology, not only redefines the construction paradigm of public buildings in tropical regions with large space and lightweight structure, but also provides a replicable carbon reduction practice sample for similar projects worldwide with a 30% steel saving rate.
